Fire And The Himalayan Traveler | Sasmit Powale

I fell in love with your anger and a bundle of emotions
Like a Himalayan Traveller falls in love with fire

After years of steel cold
When he finally sees a dancing sky
He tries to warm his eyes
And free his frozen soul
Over the shooting blades of pyre

Green, red, orange, yellow, blue
Piercing his skin and dissolving in his blood
Like sweets on Diwali eve
Between the laughs, rockets and fireworks

He takes off his protective gear for the first time
His fingers trembling at your sight
And hot tears near his lips
Human, Human, Human.
Growing lighter with gratitude
With each passing second

He sits crouched under the blanket of your warmth,
As close to you as possible
Wondering ways to house you inside his chest
Before he leaves again for the mountains
