Walk Alone! | Capt. Kunal Narayan Uniyal

August 28, 2016

(For Rabindranath Tagore)

If they answer not to thy call,
walk alone!
Walk alone! Walk Alone! Walk Alone!
If they are afraid and cower mutely
facing the wall,
O thou of evil luck,
open thy mind and
speak out alone!
I guess I speak a new language-not
One I learnt at the knee of my mother
Or in the arms of ‘the other’
I guess I am a loner–
destined to walk with thee.
If I speak a new language
am I a madman or a sage?
If I speak a new language–
will You walk with me?

A speck of stardust
a bit of cosmos
I have come to contain–
copious joy and pathos.

Do you possess the courage
do you have enough love?
Do you have passionate faith
to walk this path with me?

I brought down the river of faith
from the sky to the earth.
I have ground to dust
the demons of  anger and lust.
Now, will you walk with me?

No maps define this path–
only latitudes of imagination
And longitudes of exertion.
March on this unstamped path–
determination, your only rhythm.

Tell me—
will you walk
with me?

Its all about travelling and covering those undiscovered arenas of your heart. Journey which truly need to be taken alone.
