Remember Me, Love | Abhik Ganguly

When the evening light fades
leaving behind a trail of memories
remember me, love.

In the haunting nights
of neon-lit alleyways
Wearing a black kurta, with a 'Q & Q'
Quartz wrist-watch
That my father gave.

The jhumka1 that adorns you
Puts my soul in a trance
Where the distant love echoes
As I try to capture it
quaintly, in my heart.

The gibbous moon shines
timidly, blushing like Radha
Encompassed in the blue skies
Remains the allure of notes
From the flute of Krishna.

  1. 1Women in the Indian subcontinent typically wear earrings, which are called jhumkas.
