Pang, Pang, You’re Dead | Samina Hadi-Tabassum

Pang! Pang! You’re dead Lichtenstein
You’re aging artwork like carbon decay
Radioactive decades later
Your muses all wrinkled
Breathing in carbon from marbled rooms
Eating away tissue in the body of modern art

Pang! Pang! You’re dead Lichtenstein
Your half-life is up
Your isotopes no longer tropes
You are half of what you were
Too small to even analyze
Under a theoretical microscope

Pang! Pang! You’re dead Lichtenstein
The date of your death
Will be measured with an algorithm
A formula to determine
When your black dots disappeared
When your bubbled words perished
When your yellow yellowed
