Anecdotes | Sneha Subramanian Kanta

The barbed wire across the fence
has always been as it is
right since I was in the first standard
it has gathered dust now and is rusting
as the sands of time
comfortably accumulate itself on the
long metal chain

I shift looking at a spider
spinning a beautiful web house
off and on and off and on
he goes
falling graciously on the ground
and getting up and re-creating his
universe

the piles of papers have gathered dust
at one point, this used to be all that I had
random love notes from you and
a couple of broken rays of sunlight keeping
them warm
there is no sunshine today and there is no
you

my window gives me a view of
the clouds gathered in the murky sky
I stretch my hand to feel the wind
and to feel your scents left in the
air, passing on to me

this kitten is very playful, she
comes to me when she needs something
and then goes away like she never
knew me

the fan it moves in a circular motion
creating illusions of shadows
which creep bedside and tell me to
stop looking at it

what did the doctor tell me last?
yes i have an attention deficit disorder.
