Coming from the Tea Country
I know, it’s a heresy to say;
That given a choice between Tea and Coffee
I will go the Coffee way.
If Tea is the Morning Raga
Coffee is my rock song.
If with Tea you are always right
With Coffee you can never be wrong.
When the tank of your soul
runs with the empty sign on blinkers;
Tea gives you the strength to think
but the doers are the Coffee drinkers.
I once found a small shop
that was nestled in the Hill.
On a signboard there was written-
“Tea is free here and for Coffee we charge no Bill…”
Sometimes when the going gets tough
and I know that I must be on the move
Tea gives me the audacity to get up
but Coffee makes me groove.
On those long deep nights when you are awake
and solemnly burn your midnight oil
Tea kisses the sleep in your eyes away
and Coffee makes it possible to incessantly toil.
Whatever it is- Tea or Coffee
You can have your own say,
But you must know that it’s for sure
Both are here to stay.
When I die, in my grave
Let Coffee beans be put out to dry.
And in case I run out of them
let Tea leaves be nearby…
