A Letter from My Beloved | Hemchandra Goswami

Much have I wandered far and wide
And uncovered Nature’s canopy
Of her beauteous forms. But far above
Sparkles, the ambrosial epistle of my love
The wafted muse of poet’s bower may bloom,
That enraptures humankind far and near;
But the air of thy words O my dear!
Is worth more that a heavenly refrain.
Flowers blossom and wilt, sod goes dry
Green vernal leaves are loath to stay;
But thy love-soaked words ever new.
Blossom forth thousand ways, joy-bedew’d.
The more I sniff and kiss my fragrance sweet
The more my heart remains unappeased.
