I Look Inward | Sheetal Agarwal

A tiny ray of the mighty sun
Wipes the darkness away
Toeing the path shown by the enlightened one
My bilboes one-by-one decay

Darkest corners of my soul
Fireflies of wisdom gleam
Spark-by-spark every day
My inner lamp starts to beam

Looking inside in moments of quiet,
I meet my demons known-unknown
Observing every breath rising and passing,
I fight the demons once and for all

Hidden inside me
Were keys to my deliverance
My shining inner light
Revealed them to me
Empowering me for the journey ahead

I look inward; I move forward
Leaving behind the shackles of negativity
I am my own light, this truth I now know
I work alone; I work diligently
I work little-by-little, to set myself free
Free from my defilements
free from myself
Free from worldly bonds
I seek to be.
