Rulebook. | Aditi Uniyal

They poured acid into our cracked open skulls
and all that we knew disintegrated into their ignorance,
they filled the empty spaces with bits of paper
on which they wrote their own agendas:

i. No questions are to be asked.
         Intonations will not be tolerated.
We will feed pre-written answers to you.

ii. You do not know your name.
You cannot see your face.
Your identity is ours to create.

iii. Stay where you are.
            Do not move a muscle.
Build home only where we placed you, and nowhere else.

iv. Don’t believe as of now.
We will be coming soon with limited beliefs to choose from.
Do not turn away when you see weapons in our hands.

v. Spectrums do not exist.
                      Binaries are the only categories.
You’re either here or there, nowhere in between.

vi. Do not panic in the event of gaining information.
Our men will be on the way.
     Everything new will be erased.
